No updates have yet been released on the condition of the child who was struck by a car on the westside of Indianapolis last Monday.
The boy was apparently riding his bike on an off road trail when he crossed into the path of an oncoming car on Vandalia Ave. just south of Washington St. and north of W. Morris. The boy was immediately rushed to Riley Hospital for Children.
The driver of the vehicle did stop to assist with the accident, but an investigation as to the cause for the motor vehicle crash is still underway.
Pedestrian accidents and bicycle accidents happen at an alarming rate, but it is even more devastating when they happen to children. Our thoughts go out to this boy and his family and we hope to update you soon with the news of his full recovery.
